About the Project
Maksimilijan d.o.o. successfully completed the Stories from the Menu project, aimed at developing a sustainable gastronomic experience that connects hotel services, local producers, beekeeping, digital content, and social inclusion.
The project was implemented at Hotel Piramida and Hotel Kranjska Gora, where the traditional hotel breakfast experience was enhanced with stories about local products, their origins, and the people who produce them. Using QR codes and digital content, guests were able to discover local producers and learn more about selected products featured in the hotels’ culinary offering.
In cooperation with the Association of Beekeeping Societies of Štajerska, particular attention was given to the importance of beekeeping, honey, bee products, and the preservation of the natural environment. The project also included the development of content related to honey and apitherapy, introducing guests to Slovenia’s rich beekeeping tradition.
An important part of the project was the cooperation with Zavod Jelša. People with disabilities participated in the production of sustainable beeswax products, adding an important dimension of social responsibility and the inclusion of vulnerable groups alongside the project’s environmental and digital aspects.
The project demonstrated that a hotel breakfast can be transformed into an authentic tourism experience that brings together local cuisine, cultural heritage, sustainability, and modern digital approaches to storytelling.

The Stories from the Menu project is implemented within the framework of the TASTE – Go Green, Get Digital, Be Resilient project.
The local partner of the TASTE project in Slovenia is RRA Podravje – Maribor.
