Planica – út a Tamar-völgyben
A trip to Planica is not only about visiting the world-famous ski jumping centre, but also about exploring one of Slovenia’s most stunning Alpine valleys. The trail through the Tamar Valley begins in Planica, the home of ski flying, where the giant ski jumps themselves are already breathtaking.
From there, a pleasant walk leads you through the picturesque Tamar Valley, surrounded by the towering peaks of the Julian Alps. The trail is easy and family-friendly, accompanied by the soothing sounds of nature and streams, and the scent of the forest. Every step offers up vistas that invite you to pause – and take a photo or two.
At the end of the trail, you’ll reach Dom v Tamarju, a welcoming mountain hut offering delicious meals in a homely atmosphere. Here you can rest, have a bite to eat and simply soak up the peace of nature. With a bit of luck, the only sounds you’ll hear while gazing at Jalovec are your own thoughts – and maybe the soft ringing of a cowbell in the distance.
