Young talents at Restaurant Week
21.10.2025
Our hearts always sing when we host young talents who absorb knowledge with shining eyes and step into the world of hospitality with open hearts.
During Restaurant Week, third-year students from the Faculty of Tourism Maribor visited us to explore the world of flavours, creativity and cuisine as part of their fieldwork.
Our chef, Tadej Petrič, took them behind the scenes — where ideas, aromas and flavours are born that guests experience on their plate. He showed them how each dish emerges from respect for ingredients, teamwork and a genuine desire to create a memorable moment for the guest.
Such visits are always something special — an opportunity to pass on experience, to inspire and at the same time remind ourselves why we love this profession.
BeeGreen at the SMARTIES conference
14.10.2025
Our BeeGreen project at Hotel Arena Maribor was selected as an innovative practice at the international SMARTIES for SMEs conference in Paphos, Cyprus, within the European COSME programme!
This important recognition for the project demonstrates that a hotel can be a place of positive change — for the environment, the community and the guests.
Our sustainability champion, Andrej Vuk, participated as a panellist in the “Twin Transition of European Tourism” discussion, presenting the challenges and opportunities of the green and digital transformation in European tourism. He spoke about the importance of implementing regenerative and sustainable solutions that improve today’s operations and build foundations for the future — one where future generations can enjoy the beauty of our world.
Der Deutsche Ball
16.10.2025
October brings a rich harvest of events that connect people, ideas and inspiration — and one of these is the 14th edition of the German Economy Ball.
An evening that combined business excellence, culture and charity, showing again the strong ties between Slovenian and German business when bound by a shared vision of progress and cooperation.
Our sincere thanks to the President of the Slovenian‑German Chamber of Commerce, Ms Dagmar von Bohnstein, and her tireless team for the invitation and for a truly magical event full of elegance, positive energy and charitable mission.
4th Green Key Slovenia Meeting
30.09.2025
Our team attended the 4th meeting of Green Key Slovenia, bringing together operators committed to environmentally responsible and conscious tourism. The event once again proved the importance of a community sharing the same values — respect for nature, responsible resource management and the desire to create tourism that leaves a positive imprint.
Green Key is an international environmental label for sustainable management of tourist accommodations, encouraging concrete action — from reducing energy and water consumption to responsible waste management and involvement of local communities and suppliers.
At EH, we believe that regenerative development is a key pillar for the future of hospitality. We are proud to co-create paths and opportunities with other stakeholders that give back more to nature and the community than we extract.
We celebrated our destination!
29.09.2025
For 140 years, Portorož–Piran has been building a tradition of hospitality that now merges rich history with a modern tourism pulse. We marked this anniversary with pride, cooperation and a vision of the future we build together.
Together with teams from all Eurotas Hotels destinations, and with Prof Dr Emil Juvan, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica UP FAMNIT, Prof Dr Miha Lesjak and industry colleague Robert Staničić, we congratulated the anniversary.
The event was also an opportunity to reflect on the future of tourism — on partnerships that build trust, on collaborations that bring innovation, and on the responsibility that binds us all. With warmth, knowledge and courage, we look to co-create the next 140 years of stories that will inspire guests, communities and generations to come.
Culinary Workshops
26.09.2025
Our Executive Chef, Tadej Petrič, led inspiring culinary workshops for students of the Tourism and Hospitality School Split under the Erasmus + mobility programme SIC Alma M. Karlin. Through practical work and exchange of experience, he introduced young future chefs to modern culinary trends, highlighted the importance of seasonal and local ingredients and encouraged creativity and courage in finding their own culinary expression.
Tadej shared his journey — from school kitchen to professional plates — full of challenges, continuous learning, dedication and satisfaction that only chefs know when a guest leaves with an empty plate and smile.
Mentorship is more than transferring knowledge — it is inspiration that encourages young talents to believe in their skills and the future of gastronomy, which honours tradition while looking ahead.

Concours d’Elegance at Hotel Kranjska Gora
08.09.2025
The Concours d’Elegance – Walter Wolf World Slovenia, held beneath the mighty Prisank, brought a true parade of steel beauties and car-enthusiasts to mount the stage, thrilling the gathered audience with their elegance, power and timeless appeal.
In front of Hotel Kranjska Gora stood vehicles that are not mere means of transport but works of art on four wheels — from classic legends to modern sport icons. The air brimmed with the roar of engines, the scent of petrol and genuine excitement, understood only by true fans of motoring.
We are proud to have hosted this unique event, which brought together the passion for cars, respect for tradition and alpine elegance — where power and grace meet in the most beautiful way.
60th Ex-tempore Piran
01.09.2025
The first weekend of September marked the jubilee of the 60th Ex‑tempore Piran — one of Slovenia’s most important art events, which for decades has enriched the cultural pulse of Piran and the wider coast.
In our hotels, art is not just decoration, but part of the guest experience — for many years visitors to Eurotas Hotels have admired works created within this prestigious event. Each painting tells a story of place, light and sea — and reminds us that Piran is more than a destination, it is inspiration.
This year’s Ex-tempore brought to Hotel Piran a new piece of art entitled “Dream Away”, created by awarded artist Monika Slemc Klavžar. The artwork with the salt-pans motif captures that unique silence and golden glow of the coast felt only on the Adriatic.

New wing added to Hotel Arena Maribor
17.07.2025
Our Hotel Arena in Maribor hosted the Director of the Directorate for Tourism, Ms Dubravka Kalin, and representative Ms Leja Mikuž. They viewed the new investment that propels the hotel into a new development phase.
With over two million euros in funding (also co-financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan), the investment aims to modernise and upgrade the hotel offer in the spirit of sustainable development and local supplier collaboration.
The first phase of the renovation (nearly two million euros) included full renovation, new floor coverings, a modern and spacious lobby and increased accommodation capacity.
This new wing marks another step forward in the development of the Maribor–Pohorje destination. With additional spaces and upgraded infrastructure, Hotel Arena opens new possibilities to attract major business events, conferences and seminars, while the enhanced offer also supports the region’s leisure and sport tourism.
From Piran to Celje – with flavour
16.07.2025
The culinary guide Falstaff awarded one fork each to the restaurants of Hotel Piran and Hotel Evropa in Celje — recognition for quality, devotion and that intangible warmth that cannot be measured in points but felt by the guest.
Behind the kitchen doors of Hotel Piran, the aroma always fills the old town’s narrow streets, invites seaside diners and passers-by to take a moment on the terrace with a sea view. Here, chefs Milana Stanićin and Damir Žižek craft cuisine without pretence but with attention to detail. They don’t chase trends, they co-create experiences and memories — because you never forget the smell and taste, just like you don’t forget evenings when the sea-air scent lingers and the day ends with a glass of wine and a seafood plate.
Meanwhile in Hotel Evropa in the very centre of Celje, chef Tadej Petrič alongside chef Ervin Podbregar ensures that dining is not just a meal, but a ritual — that moment of the day you anticipate, enjoy and wish to repeat. The 150-year tradition of this historic house brings responsibility, but also pride — still offering a blend of chic experience and home-grown elegance that guests won’t easily forget.
Summer compilation Hotel Piran 99!
27.6.2025
On the Terrace 99 of Hotel Piran, a true summer vibe blew!
By the sea, at sunset and with a view that never disappoints, we shared a special moment with lovers of music, Piran and good atmosphere — the presentation of the exclusive musical compilation Hotel Piran 99.
The project was created in collaboration with DJ Benjamin Shock, one of Slovenia’s most recognised names in electronic music, and local creators who, under the label Watermellow, captured in music that unique feel evoked by Piran — the calm of the sea, the energy of the town and the warmth of summer evenings. The Hotel Piran 99 compilation is not just a musical project but a sonic postcard of our destination — a tribute to the sea, the sun and the people who create unforgettable moments.
We jumped into the sea with Martin Strel!
23.6.2025
On Friday we opened the summer swimming season in front of Barbara Piran Beach Hotel with the event “Jump Into the Sea with Martin Strel!” Together with many experts in their fields, we joined forces to host a day mainly for children. Over 200 primary-school pupils from coastal schools took part.
The event was not just a symbolic start to summer but also awareness-raising about sea safety, respect for nature and sustainable thinking! Children enjoyed swimming to the flag with Martin Strel and vied for the title “Green Ambassador of Fiesa”.
Thank you to all: Martin Strel, the fire-fighters of Piran, the underwater rescue service, NGO DOVES-FEE Slovenia, Morigenos – Slovenian Marine Mammal Society, public company OKOLJE Piran, the team of water-rescue LGS, police and marine police, Maritime Administration of the Republic of Slovenia and the diving centre Divestrong.
