HOTEL PIRAN 99

DJ and producer Benjamin Shock, in collaboration with Eurotas Hotels, presents his first vinyl release — Hotel Piran ’99 — a music compilation created together with local artists. The title track, Hotel Piran ’99, blends contemporary electronic rhythms with authentic ambient sounds of Piran — the sea, the ringing of church bells and the calls of seagulls — creating a unique coastal lounge atmosphere. The album is also a personal tribute to the city where the author comes from.

Field recordings used in the track were captured around various locations in Piran, with the intention of shaping a narrative soundscape that transports the listener directly onto the shore. The compilation is enriched by instrumental contributions from numerous local musicians: vocals and lyrics by Manca Kozlovič, saxophone by Erik Kramberger, trombone by Denis Beganović – Kiki, guitar by Aleš Fakin and electric piano by Aleksander Radosavljević. The track is a result of a collective creative process, where each musician adds a piece of local identity. The visual identity of the record is complemented by a photograph by photographer Jaka Ivančič. Shot on Piran’s picturesque waterfront, the photo is a visual postcard of the town and aligns perfectly with the album’s musical concept.
